A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Kelly joined the Afterschool Partnership in August 2009. Prior to relocating to New Orleans, Kelly was a Youth Programming Specialist with the Cuyahoga County Library system. Developing literacy programs for K-12 was one of her major responsibilities. She also evaluated community literacy needs and programs for the library. In 2007 she received a youth development fellowship from Case Western Reserve University, coached Cleveland’s Brave New Voices Youth Team, worked as a program coordinator for The City of Shaker Heights and The City of Orange. She also served on the executive board of the Cleveland Literary Center.
Kelly is a newly appointed executive board member of S.T.A.I.R. (Start the Adventure in Reading). Kelly graduated from Kent State University with an undergraduate degree in Communications. She holds an M.F.A in Creative Writing from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
